Some help please
« on: November 13, 2009, 01:57:13 pm »
Hi,

I know it has been sometime since I, last, posted on the boards. My new work assignment has weird hours, and trying to get in to the 501st, is keeping me from this passion.

But back to my question.

I was wondering if the members of this board could help me. I remember that one of us had been doing some great work with lightsaber drawings and I wondering where the topic was.  I have tried to search for it, but I can't find it. Thanks for any help.

I dunno if it'd be of any interest or help, but I did a bunch of 'sabres in Lightwave a little while back. Be easy enough to do more.

Unfortunately I think my last reinstall ate all the models shown here.
Edit - Scratch that, they just got filed in the wrong folder.

Anyhoo, as 3D models it is perfectly possible to generate views of them in any scale and at any angle.

The builds don't take long either, so, depending on what you're after, I could generate a new design.

Ah, re-read, methinks my post here is completely irrelevant, like that elephant who took a serious bent on the government who won't pay the rent on his crazy tent 'cos he went and spent on mice in kent and to his detriment spoke incitement 'til his ire was pent then made a dent in a copper gent.

Chrome & LBraden,

Thanks for the inforamtion.  It helped me find what I was looking for.  I was able to find out that shepard137 had a picture of what I wanted.
I can't find any one of his pictures. Does any one have a picture of a lightsaber with a wood grip? I have search the forum and can't find any of his posts.

I believe Shepard137's lightsabres can be found at Wolf's Shipyard.  There may be updates to them as well.  If you let us know what you're trying to do exactly, we might be better able to direct you.  If you looking for wood finish I'm sure there are images on the internet of wood that could easily be photoshop'd onto a ortho design.

Update:

I want to thank the members, of the forum, for their help; I have found what I am looking for, sort of.  What lit the fire to build a lightsaber was this indestructible, through Make: Magazine. It was through FX-saber, a lightsaber building forum, I was able to a company that had a grip that I like; for my saber.

A few weeks ago I attended OryCon, the Oregon Science Fiction Convention; where I met, face to face, someone that I know through another forum. He has volunteered to help me with the most difficult part of the saber build. They are special modifications (that I will post on an) update as they come together.

Happy New Year everyone!

So why am I posting this, the above, here?  To kill two birds with one stone; so the saying goes.  I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and also to let eveyone know that I found, some of, Shepard137's lightsaber pictures.  Thought I don't know the extent of how many of his pictures that I have; I do have them.  The things one finds, when one cleans, ones hard drive.
